CB Radio/Intercom Information on the Moto-Comm system

Initial test in the yard this system worked great, it was time to head out on the highway. Things were super till we hit speeds of 55 mph, then the open mic's started to fail. I couldn't hear a darn thing my wife was saying and either could she hear me, well there was noise and lots of it, the wind was breaking up the VOX. I tried a number of things that didn't work. So I called Moto-Comm, the tech I talked to, knew in a second the issue was with the intercom mic's. He told me it was a known problem and to send it back to them, for a board and mic upgrade. So that's were I am at now, I just packaged the unit and got it ready to mail. I will update this page as soon as I get the unit back and test it, they estimated 10 days for shipping and repairs. Also, the guys I have talked with at Moto-Comm are great, no run around try this and that, just send it back we will make it right attitude!

Well I got the intercom back this afternoon, the guys a motocomm talk a good game but play poorly. Their fix was putting srink tubing over the mic, shoot they should have ask, I could have told them that didn't work, as I said, I tried everything.

As it stands, I don't recommend this intercom system, it has good points but the idea it doesn't work well in the wind is enough to give it thumbs down. After all, wind in your face is what riding a bike is all about!

The unit is price at around $170.00, not bad really considering, no if it only worked properly, the original honda line unit are about $1500 on ebay used!

Bottom line unless your riding with a full helmet this intercom isn't the solution your looking for. FYI I don't have a full helmet to test that mic option, but I'm guess it would work better then the open face mic.
